The Surrey Police Service (SPS) arrested a 46-year-old man who is believed to be the main suspect in an overnight shooting in Surrey.
The SPS says the shooting occurred sometime before 8:45 p.m. at a residence close to the 14100 block of 72 Avenue on Sunday.
“SPS officers arrived and arrested a suspect who was still on scene,” said Sgt. Lindsey Houghton in a written statement.
The facade of the residence was damaged by several gunshots during the incident.
Police did not report any injuries.
The suspect, David Bruce Baxter, has now been charged with one count of attempted murder using a firearm and one count of discharging a firearm at a residence.
He remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon.
The SPS says that this incident is not extortion-related
