AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Amherst Survival Center said that they’re ready to help neighbors navigate food insecurity.

According to the center’s Interim Director, they’ve been preparing for a potential SNAP disruption and are well-positioned to step up, even with an increased demand.

ASC’s food pantry is available for residents in select neighboring towns, along with anyone experiencing homelessness.

Proof of citizenship or income is not required, and it doesn’t cost money to shop.

The pantry is open Mondays and Fridays from noon to three p.m. - Tuesdays and Thursday’s noon to seven p.m. and the third Saturday of the month from nine a.m. to noon.

Amherst Survival Center also offers community meals to all, which are free and healthy lunches served from 12 to 12:30.
