WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — "I have not seen so many people, so many people that are just terrified for what the future holds,” said Barri Sue Bryant, who works at the Social Security office in Wilkes-Barre.
The federal government has been shut down for all of October. For the entire month, federal employees have not been getting paid, despite some even having to come into work.
"I don't live close, I live 45 minutes to an hour away, and the financial aspects are really taking its toll on me on being able to come in and give 150 percent,” said Mary Anne Shoemaker, who works at the Social Security office in Wilkes-Barre.
