COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus City Schools community packed South High School Monday night for the first of three community meetings to discuss cutting $50 million from the district's budget, with a final decision expected within the next month.
The town hall meeting gave parents an opportunity to voice concerns about proposed cuts before the district administration makes final decisions on measures like transportation reductions, school closures and staffing changes.
"We do have to make significant cuts, we do have to cut $50 million from the general fund for the next school year," said CCS Superintendent Dr. Angela Chapman.
