LOS ANGELES — Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer left Game 3 of the World Series in the seventh inning with an apparent side injury.
Leading off the inning, Springer hit a foul ball against Dodgers left-hander Justin Wrobleski when he grabbed at his right side and called a member of the team’s training staff to the plate. Springer immediately left the field.
Ty France replaced Springer at the plate and inherited an 0-1 count before eventually striking out.
Springer was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the game after he entered 3-for-8 with a double and two runs scored over the first two games of the series. He left with the game tied 4-all.
