Delhi's inaugural cloud seeding trials are set to begin as the capital battles worsening air pollution. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed that preparations have concluded for the trials scheduled to commence today, pending visibility improvements in Kanpur for the arrival of the aircraft.

The trials come on the heels of a test run over Burari, where compounds like silver iodide were released to trigger artificial rain. However, insufficient moisture levels impeded success.
