Route 2 is closed in both directions in Preston due to a serious pedestrian crash Monday night.

The CT Department of Transportation said both directions of Route 2 are closed at Hewitt Road.

Connecticut State Police said serious injuries have been reported, and the driver fled the scene.

The crash was reported just before 10 p.m. The crash is under investigation.
