United Illuminating customers will be paying more for electricity beginning next week.
The Conecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) issued a final decision Tuesday on an annual revenue requirement for UI for the rate year November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2026.

The authority appoved a revenue requirement of $450.7 million for UI for the rate year. The amount is 8% less than the $490.2 million United Illuminated proposed in its application with PURA.
The decision will result in about a $10 increase in distribution rates on customers' monthly bills for residences using 750 kilowatt hours of electricity.
