CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority issued a final decision Tuesday approving an increased revenue requirement for The United Illuminating Company for the rate year starting Nov. 1.
This will result in an estimated monthly bill impact of $9.99 for distribution rates for the average residential customer using 750 kilowatt hours of electricity, according to PURA.
UI provides electric service to over 347,000 customers in 17 towns across southwestern Connecticut.
A total revenue requirement of $450 million was approved by PURA, which is 8% less than UI's proposal.
The approval also allows a return on equity of 9.45%, however PURA reduced the allowed return on equity to 9.25% to address management and performance issues.
UI initially proposed a 27.4%
