LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Hurricane Melissa’s path is set to hit Jamaica in less than 24 hours.
It’s expected to bring potentially life-threatening conditions with winds at 175 mph and waves that could reach nine feet.
Jamaica is also a popular vacation destination, and one Arkansas mom and her friends shared that they are now stuck after the airport shut down due to the storm.
Due to the expected intensity of the storm, they've even had to evacuate to a safer building at their resort.
“We came in Wednesday of last week to celebrate a birthday as well as an anniversary, and just to get some time away from our everyday lives, and did not know that we would be stuck here, honestly, and [now] we're stuck,” explained Paisley Crutchfield.
