KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — Even on a dark and gloomy day like Monday evening, former WBIR anchors and reporters Bill Williams and Ken Schwall would positively leave you smiling.
"It wasn't just their job. You could tell that they had passion for this work," Knox County commissioner Courtney Durrett said.
While their smiles — we can only see on video and photos now — the gleam lives on through their families.
"He (Ken) came to love the people here, to love the history here and to know the past culture of these mountains. He enjoyed connecting with them and you know just finding out what they were about," Ken Schwall's widow, Corina, said.
"After he (Bill) passed away, seeing all of the outpouring support he got from you know social media, all the condolences we've gotten from just everybody
