KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee has set a new record in high school graduation rates, with 92.3% of students across the state graduating last school year.

The data comes from the Tennessee Department of Education, showing three districts in the region have graduation rates exceeding 99%. Fentress and Greene County Schools, as well as the Tennessee School for the Deaf, are three of the nine districts in the state to reach that milestone.

Only sixty-eight schools across the state finished the year with a graduation rate of more than 99%.

The TDOE released the following highlights from the 2024-25 school year:

1,892 more students graduated in the 2025 cohort compared to last year, for a total of 69,124 students graduating across the state.
