Montha Cyclone: Live Blog

The severe Montha cyclone is moving close to the Andhra coast and is expected to make landfall near Sankaraguptam in Razole, Konaseema district. Heavy rains and strong winds are already lashing nearby coastal areas as authorities remain on high alert.

Cyclone Montha’s landfall near Konaseema is not expected to cause major impact there, with only moderate rains (50–100 mm) and winds of 70–90 km/h likely in Kakinada, East Godavari, and Konaseema. Instead, the cyclone’s main rainbands will heavily impact Krishna, West Godavari, Bapatla, Guntur, NTR, and Eluru districts with extreme rainfall (100–200 mm). Vizag and nearby areas will see moderate rains, while rainfall will ease in Nellore, Prakasam, and Tirupati by tonight.
