Bellreng Says He Won’t Quit Despite Court Losses

After two courtroom setbacks, the owner of Bellreng’s Towing says he’s not backing down in his legal battle with the North Tonawanda Common Council.

Michael Bellreng claims the city improperly awarded its towing contract to a competitor — a company that employs one of the council members. Both of his lawsuits have been dismissed, but Bellreng says he plans to keep fighting.

“I think disappointed is the best word to describe all of this,” Bellreng said, "Absolutely not giving up. I said from day one that I was going to fight, and I will fight until I can no longer fight no more.”

State Supreme Court Justice Mario Giacobbe presided over both of Bellreng’s cases.
