OROVILLE, Calif. - A Oroville man was taken into custody by the Oroville Police Department for attempting to meet with minor for sexual purposes over the weekend.
The Oroville Police Department says that at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a school in the Thermalito School District after dispatch received a report of a man who was allegedly trying to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the individuals involved.
Authorities say that the investigation by officers revealed that 30-year-old Douglas Hogan of Oroville had been communicating online with someone he believed to be a minor. However, the person was an adult decoy intending to expose potential child predators.
