A group of Brisbane high school students were yesterday told they have been learning the wrong subject all semester, just two days before their exam.
The Queensland education department has confirmed Year 12 Ancient History students at Brisbane State High School were taught the unit on Augustus, instead of Julius Caesar, the subject of the 2025 external exam.
The mistake was discovered yesterday.
The exam is tomorrow.
The department has insisted students will not be disadvantaged.
"To ensure students are not disadvantaged, the school is making a whole cohort Illness and Misadventure application for this assessment," a department spokesperson said.
"This will ensure consideration is given to the circumstances when student results are finalised."
