LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Xavian Soto, the Jackson man charged with killing a teenager in Lansing last fall, has been found guilty.
Soto, 20, was convicted Tuesday of second-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm in connection with the death of 18-year-old Braylon Shepherd on Nov. 7, 2024.
Shepherd was found shot to death on Sadie Court and authorities arrested Soto within 24 hours.
At the time of the murder, Ingham County Prosecutor called it “a senseless and tragic loss of life.”
Soto is set to be sentenced on Jan. 5, 2026.
