Emmet Sheehan started 12 games for the Dodgers this year and routinely exceeded 80 pitches per outing. The 20-plus pitches he’s at now out of the bullpen is nothing new.

The last time he threw this many pitches was his second-last outing of the regular season, when he tossed 84 against the San Francisco Giants on Sept. 21.
