Daisy was just a young pup when she was welcomed into her family’s home. She gave them her full devotion, offering affection and loyalty with the belief that she would be cherished for the rest of her life.

But that promise was broken when Daisy’s owners made the decision to surrender her to Midwest Animal ResQ in Raytown, Missouri.

When asked for the reason, the family explained they no longer had time to care for her. Shelter staff gently reminded them that Daisy, now a senior Great Dane, might never be adopted again. Still, the family stood firm.

Without a farewell or final hug, they unloaded her from the vehicle and drove away.

Daisy sat quietly, watching the car disappear down the road, unaware that her family was gone for good.
