TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - President Donald Trump has announced plans to try to help with the increasing price of beef, but it may not help consumers, and one Marana rancher said it will hurt American ranchers.
“The timing’s not good. It’s really going to hurt the American rancher,” said Marana Stockyards owner Clay Parsons.
Trump announced he plans to import about four times as much beef from Argentina as last year, without charging them the full tariff price.
The hope is that it’ll increase supply and lower prices.
Ranchers across the U.S. are not happy.
Those 80,000 metric tons are about four times what we imported from Argentina the year before.
