An arrest warrant has been issued for an Indian-origin man in Canada following the murder of a 27-year-old woman believed to be of Indian heritage. Police have identified the suspect as 27-year-old Manpreet Singh from Brampton, wanted for the second-degree murder of Amanpreet Saini.

Saini’s body was found with “traumatic injuries" in a park in Lincoln on 21 October.

Investigators have urged the public to share any information about Singh’s whereabouts. The Niagara Regional Police Service said, “Investigators have information to suggest that Singh fled the country shortly after Amanpreet’s body was discovered."

Police said the killing appeared to be a targeted attack, while adding there was no ongoing threat to public safety. Authorities also released a photo of the suspect, Manpreet Sin
