NEW YORK – Edie Falco returns to long-form storytelling with this current, fourth season of the Paramount+ “Mayor of Kingstown.” She’s Nina Hobbs, the new prison warden.

For Jeremy Renner’s “mayor” Mike McClusky, Nina is an immediate obstacle to his power and influence. She is also, in her lying-in-wait ferocity, slightly scary and intimidating. And quick to anger.

Is she malicious as well?
