The Commission for Air Quality Management ordered an entry ban on any commercial goods vehicle, viz., LGV, MGV and HGV, other than BS-VI, CNG, LNG and EV, into New Delhi starting November 01.
A report by ANI claimed, that an exception has been given to commercial goods vehicles except the ones that are registered in Delhi. The official order said, "Under Section 12 of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas Act 2021, strict restrictions on the entry of transport/commercial goods vehicles below BS-VI standards into the NCT of New Delhi."
What is the move aimed at?
This move comes at a time when the air quality in remains in the 'very poor' category with at 305 AQI.
