MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Thousands of arrests and traffic stops have been made since the Memphis Safe Task Force began operations.

Overcrowding and understaffing at the Shelby County Jail are problems that predate the task force, issues that Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner has acknowledged multiple times.

FOX13 Investigates put in a public records request to find out how many people with open warrants have been captured by the Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF).

Those numbers show more than 1,600 arrests since October 1, but there are still an overwhelming number of open warrants left to be served.
