NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a Tennessee representative who was a member of the so-called “Tennessee Three” directed at his colleagues across the aisle.
The order comes two years after the suit was initially filed. In it, Nashville Rep. Justin Jones, D - District 52, alleged that Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton and other house leaders violated his rights protected under the First and 14th Amendments.
That lawsuit centered on Jones’s expulsion, reinstatement and subsequent treatment as a lawmaker after he and two other state representatives attended rallies and led a gun reform protest on the House floor in the wake of a deadly shooting shooting at Nashville’s Covenant School.
