Amazon is reportedly poised to eliminate as many as 30,000 corporate jobs , with cuts expected to begin this week, as the Seattle-based tech giant reverses its significant pandemic-era hiring spree.

CEO Andy Jassy had previously cautioned staff that some roles within the company could be superseded by artificial intelligence (AI) .

Global divisions, including human resources, operations, devices and services, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) , are expected to be targeted, according to reports from Reuters and the Wall Street Journal.
