MEDINA, Ohio – The city is continuing its efforts to seek funding for the proposed State Road reconstruction project, but in the meantime, officials plan to get started on design work.

City Engineer Patrick Patton said the city went through a qualification process and determined that the firm American Structurepoint, Inc. is the most qualified applicant to handle the design work of phase one of the project. He recommended that the finance committee award the bid for design work to them and finance committee approved the motion.

“We have been awarded about $1.8 million in grants to help fund the project and we are seeking an additional $1 million, but we would like to get started with the design work now,” he said.

The entire estimated cost of the State Road reconstruction project is $6.
