CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Work on the new Alliant Energy LightLine is moving along in Cedar Rapids.
The city said Monday the first three beams have now been placed. The city says the concrete beams are similar to ones the Iowa Department of Transportation uses for bridges.
The LightLine is a pedestrian bridge that people will be able to use to walk across the Cedar River between the Czech Village and New Bohemia.
It’s expected to open in 2026.
