QUINCY, Calif. - Firefighters in the Plumas National Forest are preparing for pile burning operations at Bucks Lake and Antelope Lake starting Monday, with plans to continue through Wednesday if needed.
According to the Forest Service, approximately 6 acres near Rainbow Point at Bucks Lake and 10 acres at Antelope Lake, including several campgrounds, will be treated. Smoke is expected but should not significantly impact nearby communities.
Residents and visitors are advised to be cautious of increased firefighting equipment traffic and possible short-term smoke effects. Operations may pause if weather conditions worsen.
