SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Springfield’s Convoy of Hope is activating teams to respond to Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa passes.
The nonprofit will be bringing food, water, hygiene supplies, and more to make sure people have the essentials they need to start recovering.
“There’s one good thing about a hurricane, and it’s that you can see it coming. So, we have that working in our favor that we can plan ahead and begin moving those resources even before the storm gets to Jamaica,” said Ethan Forhetz with Convoy of Hope. “But, it’s arriving there even as we speak, moving very, very slowly. Our team has been working and continues to work to get those supplies as close to the island as we can and then to the people just as quickly as possible.”
