JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - Last week, during an interview with Rep. Diana Harshbarger, the congresswoman said she had not received any complaints from constituents about the extended government shutdown.
But after receiving dozens of emails and calls from those who live in the district, News Channel 11 reached out to those who said they have been calling Harshbarger's offices and sending emails voicing various concerns for months.
"It's beyond frustrating. So disappointing. So disappointing," retired teacher Karen Cross said.
Cross is also a cancer survivor who stands to have her Affordable Care Act premiums rise, representing nearly 40% of her household income, should the subsidies run out. She spoke with Harshbarger at her last town hall event in February.
