Dani Alves has been filmed leading prayers in a Spanish church following his release from prison.

The former right-back was sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars after being found guilty of sexual assault in February 2024.

His sentencing related to an incident with a woman at a Barcelona nightclub in 2022.

Alves had initially been arrested the following year and was held in jail for a total of 14 months.

The 42-year-old was released a month on from his sentencing in March last year after paying his £853,000 bail.

Over a year-and-a-half later, the Brazilian has taken up a new career in Spain.

He has appeared in a video at a church in Girona, where he told guests he had made 'a pact with God'.
