The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for Phosphatic and Potassic (P&K) fertilizers for the upcoming Rabi season 2025–26, ensuring the continued availability of key fertilizers to farmers at affordable prices.

The decision, taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, covers the period from October 1, to March 31, 2026, and involves a tentative budgetary requirement of ₹37,952.29 crore. The allocation is about ₹736 crore higher than that for the Kharif season 2025.

Under the approved framework, subsidies will be provided on P&K fertilizers, including Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and NPKS grades (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potash, and Sulphur), based on the notified rates for the Rabi season. The move aims to maintain the availability of fer
