Rabbi Elimelech Goldberg, known as “Rabbi G,” the founder and global director of the international nonprofit Kids Kicking Cancer will speak at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Spotlight Educator series at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation at 27501 Fairmount Blvd. in Pepper Pike.
Goldberg, a black belt martial artist and clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, created Kids Kicking Cancer after losing his first child to leukemia. This fueled his mission to empower critically ill children by teaching them how to use martial arts breathing, focus and meditative techniques to take control over their pain, fear and anger. The evidence-based therapy he developed is used in 125 hospitals in 10 countries.
