NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Mostly clear skies, dry air, and gustier northerly winds, especially in East New Mexico, are leading to dropping temperatures across the region with some fog in eastern areas. Below-freezing temperatures are confined to some areas in the northern third of the region into western areas, while everywhere else from central areas of the Rio Grande Valley to the southeast is mostly ranging from the high 30s to the lower 60s.

Sunshine today will still remain for most despite some low-level clouds with drizzle out east, but on the backside of the faster current in the jet stream, the cold front will continue to progress into Mexico, creating a temperature divide.
