ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Tuesday morning, the Albuquerque Police Department celebrated National First Responders Day. The event honored APD, Albuquerque Fire Rescue, and Albuquerque Community Safety for serving and protecting the Albuquerque community each day.

Families and friends came out and met with first responders, and explored different police vehicles. "It gets us engaging with the community in a different light. Usually, we're handling calls and dealing with people at their worst times or in an emergency setting. Whereas something like this, it's a little more laid back.
