Assistant Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar is facing public outrage in Haryana after a viral video showed him using an earthmover to remove vegetable vendors from a roadside in Bahadurgarh town in the Jhajjar district during an anti-encroachment drive.
After the video on Friday, netizens sought action against ACP (Traffic) Kumar. Eventually, on the instructions of the Director General of Police, O P Singh, Kumar was stripped of his charge and has now been attached to the headquarters of the superintendent of police in Jhajjar.
Kumar, 37, is a former international boxer who was recruited into the Haryana Police in 2008 during the tenure of Bhupinder Singh Hooda as chief minister. He participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, won a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and a silver
