OMAHA, Neb. —

The Malcolm X Memorial Foundation selected Gensler to lead the Master Site Plan development for its future Malcolm X Cultural Center. The 20-acre site in North Omaha will transform the civil rights icon's birthplace.

Gensler is a global architecture firm with projects in more than 100 countries. The company's work includes design for the Los Angeles Sparks WNBA Training Facility in California and the Jackie Robinson Museum in New York.

"The selection of Gensler is more than a design choice," said the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation's executive director, JoAnna LeFlore-Ejike. "It is a commitment to cultural preservation and equity-focused process that honors the legacy of Earl and Louise Little and their son Malcolm X."
