COLUMBUS, Ohio — College football debates are about to heat up.

The first College Football Playoff rankings will be unveiled Nov. 4, meaning teams across the country will get a glimpse of where they stand in the postseason conversation.

While Ohio State , an undefeated team fresh off a national title, has little doubt about making the 12-team field — the Buckeyes have a 96% chance of doing so, per ESPN’s College Football Power Index — the top 25 rankings can be telling of where coach Ryan Day’s team will be seeded.
