MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 72-year-old Ocala man was killed Monday when his SUV got stuck on train tracks and was hit by a train in Marion County , according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash happened around 7:45 p.m. on State Road 326.

According to an FHP crash report, the SUV was heading west when it turned north for an unknown reason and became stuck on the tracks.

Troopers said the train then struck the left side of the vehicle.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.

No one else was injured.
