A 47-year-old woman was charged with DWI after police said she was found behind the wheel with a blood alcohol concentration more than twice the legal limit in Westchester County.
The arrest stemmed from an incident on Friday, Oct. 17, when officers responded at around 11 a.m. to Steinmann’s Deli on Gomer Street in Yorktown after receiving reports of an erratic driver, the Yorktown Police Department said on Monday, Oct. 27.
When officers arrived, they identified the driver as 47-year-old Karen Tintori of Yorktown. Police said Tintori was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, and a further investigation revealed her driving privileges had been suspended, the department said.
She was arrested at the scene and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing. A breath test later showed Tintori had a blood alcohol content of 0.20 percent, police said.
Tintori was charged with aggravated DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
After processing, Tintori was issued traffic tickets and released on her own recognizance to EMS personnel before being transported to a hospital for evaluation.
She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m.
