Carmel native Shaan Mishra walked onto the Alex Trebek stage Monday, Oct. 27, a returning champion after his thrilling come-from-behind victory last week on " Jeopardy! "

Mishra, a management consultant, had earned the top spot after leaping Friday from third to first in the final round of the popular quiz show. His win even elicited a "way to go!" from Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam on Facebook .

Mishra competed Monday against two opponents : Aaron Levine, a sports anchor from Seattle, Washington, and Morgan Walker, a Colorado marketing director from Glenwood Springs.

Despite a respectable start to Monday's game, Mishra trailed behind Levine and Walker heading into the final round of "Jeopardy!" Again, Mishra was in third place. Again, he answered the final question correctly , but
