Millions of tenants across the UK will be affected by the new laws coming into force under the Renters' Rights Act 2025.
The Renters' Rights Bill received Royal Assent yesterday (October 27), securing a 'fairer future' for 11 million private renters in England.
It delivers on the government’s Plan for Change manifesto commitment to rebalance the relationship between landlords and tenants, ending a system that has left renters vulnerable to unfair treatment and insecurity.
The act includes changes to rent increases, notice periods, and keeping pets as well as abolishing Section 21 evictions.
