The Kickemuit Middle School girls' soccer club earned a spot in the 2025 state championship match after the third-seeded Huskies traveled to Chariho Monday, Oct. 27, and came home with a 2-1 win over the host Chargers.
KMS improved to 13-0 on the season and will next head to Cranston West High School for the title contest Wednesday night, Oct. 29, at 6 o'clock where the locals face Feinstein-Coventry, 1-0 winners over North Cumberland in Monday's other semi.
In their semi, the Huskies and Chariho played scoreless through the opening 30 minutes before the Chargers struck early in the second half.
The Huskies rallied first with a goal from Emma Overy with about 11 minutes remaining then with the winning tally in the final four minutes by Mya Salvatore off an Overy corner. KM
