COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) - South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster will provide an update about SNAP benefit funding amid the government shutdown.
The press conference was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will stop on Nov. 1. In response, the governor activated the One SC Fund.
The fund allows individuals to make donations that will go directly to food banks to purchase goods needed for the community.
