I’m proud of my congressman, Rep. Dave Min, D-Irvine, for helping finally achieve every libertarian’s dream: getting rid of the government. Well, shutting down some of it, anyway, for a couple of weeks.
President Donald Trump wants a budget deal for fiscal year 2025-26, which began on Oct. 1. But Min and his fellow Democrats in the minority in the House and Senate refuse to budge and the doors of the meddling, taxing federal behemoth remain shut. The key is the Senate, where Republicans hold a 53-seat majority, but 60 votes are needed to break a Democratic filibuster. In the House, Min is doing his obstructive part.
