JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation after a 24-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Jacksonville's Northside Tuesday morning.
According to JSO Sgt. Robert Hungerford, the crash occurred at approximately 5:54 a.m. at the intersection of Gold Star Family Parkway and Pecan Park Road.
Hungerford said the man was driving a Chevrolet S10 eastbound on Gold Star Family Parkway at the same time a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on the road.
Hungerford said the Silverado made a left turn onto Pecan Park Road, turning in front of the S10, and causing the crash.
According to Hungerford, the man was then taken to a local hospital where he died shortly after arriving.
