BATON ROUGE, La. (WVUE) - Frank Wilson will serve as LSU’s interim head coach for the remainder of the football season, the university announced.
Wilson is on his second stint with the Tigers and has deep ties to Louisiana football. The New Orleans native has been coaching for nearly 30 years and has been called the godfather of recruiting.
“Frank has a manner about him that will bring some stability and some calmness and relieve that anxiety that is going through the LSU football team right now,” said John Curtis High School coach JT Curtis, who has known Wilson since his playing days.
Coaching background
Wilson’s first head coaching job was at O’Perry Walker High School from 2000 to 2003. His Chargers competed in the same district as John Curtis Christian School.
