The Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA) hosted a vibrant celebration of Chhath Mahaparv at Papaianni Park in Edison, New Jersey. The event was a confluence of devotion and cultural pride, bringing together the Indian-American community to honor the Sun God (Surya Dev) and Chhathi Maiya.
A significant highlight was the participation of around 40 Vratis (devotees) who observed a sacred fast and performed the Sandhya Arghya (evening offering), as over 700 community members gathered to participate. The air was filled with traditional songs, and the sight of diyas lighting the park, alongside offerings of Thekua and fruit, added to the spiritually enriching atmosphere.
