LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A week before the Detroit Lions take the field for their annual Thanksgiving game, Lions legend Herman Moore will help kick off the holiday season in Lansing.
Moore, a former wide receiver, has been named grand marshal of the Electric Light Parade during the 41st annual Silver Bells in the City celebration on Friday, November 21.
Moore was drafted by Detroit with the 10th overall pick in the 1991 NFL Draft after a standout career at the University of Virginia, where he set school records for receiving yards (2,504) and touchdowns (27).
He also set an ACC single-season record with 1,190 receiving yards in 1990 and earned two All-American honors.
In Detroit, Moore teamed with running back Barry Sanders to power one of the league’s most dynamic offenses.
